The Host of Tokyo Alumni Podcast: Nickolas Hironao Harris

Nick is the product of the international school system and a bilingual and bicultural family. His father is from California, and his mother from Tokyo, Japan. His parents met when they were in high school when his mother was studying abroad in California. They are both bilingual, and so are Nicks two brothers, Will Harris and Maxwell Harris who currently reside in Kansas and California.
He attended the American School in Japan from 1989 to 2005.
He graduated from UC Berkeley in 2009 with a BA in Political Science, upon graduation he worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) as an Associate at the Tokyo and Shanghai offices.
He earned his teaching credentials in 2011 (after student teaching for 1-year at the American School in Japan), and has traveled the world teaching various social studies courses to high school students. He has taught in Kingdom of Bahrain, Honduras, Japan and currently in South Korea. During this time he also founded the SPSCON conference in San Pedro Sula, Honduras and the Global Education City Model United Nations (GECMUN) conference in South Korea.
In 2013, he earned his MEd in international teaching, and in 2020 his principal license from the College of New Jersey.
He currently resides in Jeju Island, South Korea. Where he works at the Korea International School Jeju.
He lives with his wife Samantha Georgi and his two cats, Cleopatra Harris and Bojangles Harris.
He looks forward to having fruitful conversations with graduates from various eras in various occupations.
